Description
Welcome to BeGuest Taipa Houses!
A project that resulted from the recovery and expansion of a century-old family house, located on a rustic plot near the sea. The project combined the use of traditional materials – rammed earth construction, reed interior ceilings, artisanal tile and hydraulic mosaic coverings, whitewashing – with modern solutions that ensure the required comfort – underfloor heating (for heating and cooling). Sustainability is also a concern: rainwater collected on the roof and in cisterns is reused in toilets and irrigation. Water is heated through solar panels and two wood-burning stoves contribute to heating.
On the land there are carob trees, almond trees and cork oaks and fig trees and guests can, in Summer, pick and consume the figs. Each house has a tank (3x3 m) with permanent water that is renewed and treated as well as its own terrace. We have barbecue equipment.
To feel truly connected with nature, we opted not to have a television, but there is WiFi, a mini sound system with Bluetooth, board games, card games, and books.
