Lagoa - House

Welcome to BeGuest Taipa Houses!

A project that resulted from the recovery and expansion of a century-old family house, situated on rustic land near the sea. The project combined the use of traditional materials – wattle and daub construction, interior ceilings of reed, coverings with handcrafted tiles and hydraulic mosaics, whitewashing – with modern solutions that ensure required comfort – radiant flooring (for heating and cooling). Sustainability is also a concern: rainwater collected on the roof terrace and in cisterns is reused in toilets and irrigation. Water is heated through solar panels and two wood-burning stoves contribute to heating.

On the land there are carob trees, almond trees and cork oaks and fig trees and guests can, in Summer, pick and consume the figs. Each house has a tank (3x3 m) with permanent renewed and treated water as well as its own terrace. We have barbecue equipment available.

So that you feel truly connected with nature we have chosen not to have television, but there is wifi, a mini sound system with Bluetooth, board games, card games and books.
